Ok, I'll end this here...and get into the real discussion. I think y'all knew where I was going with this.
But yes. I was trying to tell my family the other day that NOBODY looks at Christmas for what it really stands for anymore. I understand that this is not groundbreaking, or anything that nobody has mentioned before. But the older I have gotten, the more it seems as though Christmas has become even more commercial than ever.
I said to my family that if you polled a bunch of people regarding what they think of when x-mas is mentioned that "Jesus" or anything religious wouldn't show up until way down the list, and they didn't believe me.
Well, I just wanted to get your opinions about this.
All I know is that Thanksgiving is the type of holiday that Christmas SHOULD be. There are no gifts, no pressure, no glitz/glamour, no marketing, etc. Just getting together with the people you love to eat like a bunch of pigs and thank all for who is responsible for this gluttony.
T-giving is where it's at. X-mas is like the equivalent of Clay Aiken or Brittany Spears to the music world.
Fucking sell-out! :D
