While I did enjoy parts of SAW, I think a good half of it was totally extraneous; if you take the first 15 minutes, add the last 10, and chop out everything in between, you'd have a heck of a good short film.

They gave reasons for all of them. The fat guy in the cage cut himself for attention, the chick with the jaw thing was a drug user, the guy on fire played sick to get out of work all the time, etc
The thing I didn't get was his biggest thing was how people didn't appreciate life and took advantage of people and he used innocent people to make his points to his victims. Seems hypocritical. I could be missing something though.
