The Village was a cool movie...and yes, the plot started to become predictable for some of us..but the premise was an excellent theory that I have even thought would be great to do-remove one's self back to a time of innocence that has sadly disenegrated. Shayamalan is known for misrepresenting the "monsters" and the plot-"Signs" is an excellent example of this. It was no horror movie but a philosophal look at faith of all things. That didn't make it any less suspenseful in my book, but it was different than I expected. However, because of this last movie, I knew that the "monsters" of "The Village" wouldn't be the typical monsters to expect-and I was right. The real monsters were society, and this made complete sense. It is regretful that those of you who spent your money expecting killer mutants were cheated, but the movie definitely did NOT SUCK! Give the man credit where credit is due-his teasers were to bring in a large audience who wanted surprise and that it what he gave. I love pus-filled rotting zombies disemboweling people just as much as the next guy (or girl) but I respect a fresh plot that makes me think...And yes, I did begin to suspect the "truth" surrounding the village and its inception and I just wish I had thought to write it down so it would be my name preceding the title! One question, though..who was the actor playing the security guard that assisted Ivy once she crossed over the fence? I could swear it was Jouquin with makeup on. Could someone clarify this for me! Thanks! Tonya
