Faith Dispute: Sisters Kill Husbands

In a bizarre incident late last night, two sisters shot and killed each others' husbands.

The two sisters, Fareeda and Ghazala, had organised a get together at Fareeda’s place, Mona Apartments at Juhu.

The younger sister Ghazala and her husband, Firoz, a real estate agent, had come from Solapur to meet Fareeda and her husband, Sayeed Ahmed, who have a business in Dubai.

The Dubai couple had arrived in Mumbai on August 8. They left Hotel Rest Inn at Juhu, where they were staying, for Fareeda’s place around midnight.

A fight broke out between the two couples at about 12:25 pm over the religion of Firoz, who was originally a Hindu. Fareeda lost her cool and shot Ghazala’s husband Firoz with her husband’s Smith and Wesson revolver. Firoz died on the spot.

Subsequently, a furious Ghazala snatched the revolver from her elder sister and fired three rounds at Sayeed, who fell unconscious.

Sayeed and Firoz were rushed to Cooper hospital where Firoz was declared dead on admission. Sayeed succumbed to his injuries a little later. The two sisters have been arrested and have been remanded to police custody until August 25.
