Alrighty everyone. you made me smile :D

I'm back! I'm glad its over, this was the worst fucking move ever, but at least we have our own house now. Already replaced all the door hardware in the kitchen cabinets, installed 2 new faucets, replaced the knobs on the front and back doors (new keys) Installed new ceiling fan, which doest work because of bad wiring (it was already bad, but im not an electrician). here is my gripe about the whole thing:

uhaul said their biggest truck available was a 10 footer:rolleyes:

since we had 1 night to move, i accepted it. No other choice. So we start moiving, it fills up, we still have half our apartment to move. So we have to drive to the new place to unload. 30 minutes one way. We are also flat broke because of closing costs on the house and knowing that we were going to spend a buttload on the uhaul for mileage ($1.09 per mile.....)

Get this, not only was the truck too small, it smelled like smoke, the emergency brake barely worked, and kept coming ON every time we hit a bump. The shocks were gone, so every bump felt like the grand canyon.

And after the first trip, LONG after the sun went down, the damn lamp in the back of the truck stopped working, so we were almost blind.

Long story short, we finished at 5 in the fucking morning, we started at 6.

Meanwhile, actross the way, there is one 24' truck, and 4 fucking 17' trucks, sitting there all night! Did i forget to mentionm that the place we moved out of is RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE FUCKING UHAUL?!?!?! I mean literally. if i threw a baseballfrom the front yard, i could put it through the front window of the place with very little effort. Its not even a big street, 2 lanes.

needless to say, we went to bed pretty pissed.

So the next day, we get up, go to uhaul to pay. The guy says he already charged the card we used to reserve the truck... at 8:06. The truck wasnt due back until 9:30. So Bree tells him he needs to take the charge off. i lonnly had 20 bucks on the card, so the transaction wont complete any way. The guy starts to get defensive, so she says that we should not have had to pay full price anyway.

So he gets REAL condescending asking why should we not have to to pay full price? (BIG mistake... I'm sure bloodrayne knows what talking to a Scorpio like they are a child does...;)) So Bree explains to him that we asked for the biggest truck we could have, we were told that 10' was it, but since we live across the street, we saw that thyey had 5 others that we could have used and saved a bunch of money. The dumbasss actually says there were no trucks there, so she informs him that we live right across the street, and that we saw the trucks there all night, at least until 5:30 when we dropped off our tiny piece of garbage (not her words). He shakes his head. She calls him a liar. He freaks out. After ranting for a minute, he tell sus to get out. bree informs him that if we leave, we will not be paying with cash and her credit card (which were out and ready to pay the whole time).

She asks him 3 times if he understands that if he makes us leave he gets NOTHING. he says that he shopuld sue us. She says that is not necessarry, we have the money, just not on the card he charged. He says if we dont leave, he'll call the cops for criminal tresspass... Bree has a degree in criminal justice. She laughed at him and reminded him that he will be agreeing to nothing for the uhaul if we leave and he says get out.

Net result, banned from a place we would NEVER do business again anyway. He's getting reported to the Better Business Bereau for charging my card without my permission, and we didnt pay a dime for our shitty service. As soon as i get the transaction number for the rental contract, i am contacting uhaul about that guy.

That aside, we ar ein our new home and we love it.

here is the happy ending to the story. We have a ton of furniture for the new place on layaway at big lots. we went in to make a payment and got a manager who was completely unfamiliar with the layaway process and bungledour payment. nice guy, but he didnt have a clue. Long story short, we stood there for 45 minutes, only to find out that the last person to help uus forgot to add 2 things to the purchase. we were going to take one off to save some money, but we eneded up paying $200 more than we expected rather than $100 less. Sound bad? Next, they tried to return $35 bucks that bree had on her card. The card would not accept the refund.

We said no biggie. we got it %90 squared away, we left for the day, he thanked us over and over for being patient. We got a call the next day saying that the refund would still not work, so he had an envelope with 35 in cash waiting for us.

we go back a couple of days later, when we have time. We find out the person we will be talking to is this lady tina, who was the first person help us there ever and is AWSOME. She is also the head manager for the furniture depeartment. She let us know how much everyone appreciated us being patient (she rememebered exactly who we were from onths ago :)) and not only gave us the money, but had authorised a $150 nightstand to be added to our order for free! it is part of the bedroom set that our bed came from so it will match :)

A lot can happen in 3 days. And I have the bruises to prove it :)
