In the case of Doom 3 and Silent hill 4, they were in quicktime formaqt, so i can pause them abd just use ctrl-c to capture each frame. Quicktime also lets me move one frame at a time with the cursor keys. I use microsoft photot editor to save the individual frames, and Adobe Imageready to animate them :)
