Hello
I am a new member and just wanted to take a moment to say hello. I am a black female, in my mid-forties. I was first introduced to horror at the ripe age of four. There I sat next to my father watching the Twilight Zone (which, if I remember correctly was in black and white). It was an episode involving a scarab and a man's skin and organs slowly dissipate into dust, leaving only a skeleton. I was terrified, my mother was livid with my father but I was hooked. My Dad also had a box of horror comics. Does anyone remember the Witching Hour? Many of my best memories are of my father taking me to see horror movies: My Bloody Valentine, Horror Train and, of course, The Exorcist. I am an avid reader of Graham Masterton, James Hurbert, HP Lovecraft, Brian Lumly, Stephen King, and Peter Straub. I just finished a very interesting book by Gary A. Braunbeck, In Silent Graves. It was very different and very wonderful. I will no doubt spend most of my time on the book forum but hope to enter many interesting conversations with others on the various forums.
