Oh dear lord. To me both the ICP and the Grateful Dead sound like two cats fucking in a meatgrinder.
But truth be told I like stuff that sounds like two cats fucking in a meatgrinder. One of my favorite recordings, by the noise band Hantarashi, sounds like two guys beating the shit out of each other with belt sanders. Most of you would hate it and that's fine with me. The opinion of someone else doesn't diminish my enjoyment.
Some things to think about.
-Musical taste is subjective. Not liking something doesn't mean it's bad, it just means that you don't like it. If you are going to say that someone's music is bad don't make personal attacks on the artist. It's music, not a personality cult.
-Don't confuse music with a lifestyle. It's called cross-marketing to create meta-brand loyalty... if they can sell a lifestyle to you as well as a CD then you are giving them more money. Deadhead or Juggalo, same difference, your solidarity is just lining some dink's pocket, just like going to K-Mart. The music you listen to shouldn't define what types of clothes you wear, the way you talk, what soda pop you drink, or whatever.
