I think the light thing is like the dreams i occasionally have about still being in high school, or still working one of my previous shit-jobs:
There is a feeling of helplessness, and confusion. Deep down inside, it's these two things that fuel most of our insecurities, so i think that is why something so small can be so terrifying, in a dream at least.
In real life, you have control over a lot of things. it is weird how your brain will set up roadblocks for you that normally dont exist.
