!!!HALLOWEEN HORROR MONTH!!!
Thirst (2009)
I.M.D.B.
Kang-ho Song's performance was too understated to explore the premise and spiritual torture of a priest becoming a vampire, and there was some strange ghostly happenings towards the middle that didn't fit the film and simply went unexplained. This movie couldn't find it's feet. Very well made, however, with plenty of gruesomeness.

Tucker & Dale vs Evil (2010)
I.M.D.B.
Tucker and Dale are on vacation at their dilapidated mountain cabin when they are attacked by a group of preppy college kids.
Great premise, and while the joke could easily have become stale, excellent performances from
Tyler Labine and
Alan Tudyk keep the movie rolling and the laughs coming. Plenty of funny gruesomeness in this one. Highly enjoyable.

Don't Breath (2016)
I.M.D.B.
Hoping to walk away with a massive cash, a trio of thieves break into the house of a sick man who isn't as helpless as he seems.
A fairly enjoyable little movie. The performances were a bit underwhelming. Certainly wasn't great but a good late night movie with some tension and intrigue.

Independence Day: Resurgence (2016)
I.M.D.B.
Two decades after the first Independence Day invasion, Earth is faced with a new extra-Solar threat. But will mankind's new space defenses be enough?
Not as stupid as I was expecting! In fact the movie managed to switch off my brain and keep me entertained throughout most of it. But the CGI was off. I felt no tension, no sense of destruction, so real sense of anything because it all looked too fake. Not a good movie, but not so terrible that I was groaning throughout.

Jack Goes Home (2016)
I.M.D.B.
After his father is killed in a car crash, Jack travels home to Colorado to help nurse his mother (who was injured in the crash) back to health.
I did not enjoy this movie. It didn't seem to know what it wanted to be, and therefore felt like a mess. Some bad dialogue delivered pretty badly by everyone certainly didn't help. It was, however, competently shot.
5.5/10
Train to Busan (2016)
I.M.D.B.
While a zombie-virus breaks out in South Korea, a couple of passengers struggle to survive on the train from Seoul to Busan.
A great zombie movie! Zombies were a real threat, the characters were explored enough to care about them and the violence was visceral without being tacky. I really enjoyed this one. Highly recommended!
