Loved the book, loved the movie. It takes a while to get going, but it gets really suspenseful in the second half. The directing was great. It gave a disorienting feel to the film that makes sense since the movie is from the points of view of three women, and one of those women is a depressed drunk divorcee. The directing choices justified the first half's slowness in retrospect. You don't know which point of view or which memory is real, but it's all put together nicely at the end. Emily Blunt is incredible.
Great! I loved the book too, so naturally I was a little wary of what the movie might be like. Your review is one of three I've seen in the last 4 hours or so, and the other two were totally thumbs up. Now I have any to see it even more.
