I thought The Dark Crystal was cool, feast for the eyes, some winks at real world references, and mildly entertaining. I was hoping for a little more meaning in the film. Been years since I saw it, and it would likely be debatable, but I thought it was basically a pseudo-duality belief system, where only an outside belief system would want anything to change (that is, only a different belief system would 'want the situation at the beginning of the film' to change)... which actually is a rejection of the belief system the film portrays. If that makes any sense...
