No, I don't know what they say about assuming.
I blame the bearded dude in your avatar. If you have a bearded dude as your avatar of course people will assume your a bearded dude. Or maybe just a dude. Same thing if you had a black dude in your avatar. Then most people would assume you were a black dude. That's how the brain works. As you can probably tell I'm speaking for the entire world here.
