How do you celebrate Christmas (if you do, that is)
 

My wife just hit me with the worst fucking idea imaginable. She said: "This is what I was thinking we should do for Christmas this year ... we'll just buy ourselves one big thing to share, and maybe a couple of little things for each other and spend the rest on Ashlynn (our daughter.)"

Of course, my reply was: "You have to be shitting me. That would be like 4 hours of foreplay, and 30 seconds of actual sex. I want my Christmas mornings to be orgasmic, paper shredding, box ripping, new-toy playing excitement for at least half an hour!"

She said: "I figured you would say something like that."

Am I wrong? She says this the tradition that her mom and dad followed (which is understandable, since they had several children). Personally, I like to save up a bunch of money and blow it on everyone I know buying them presents (and I expect to get plenty in return, too.) This is the tradition in the house I grew up in.

So, what do you all do, if anything? Do you have any "pre-christmas" rituals, like open one on Christmas Eve? Or what?

We were lucky to make it to Christmas on my mom's side. We always opened the first gift at least a week before hand, and the rest never made it to Christmas because my sister and I both pestered the living shit out of my mom and stepdad.

My dad and stepmom always had us on Christmas eve, so we opened presents then.

That way they wont go spend it on some stupid shit like deodarant or something like that LOL and I wouldnt want the 20 bucks that I gave them to go to misuse..My brother drives a lot so I usually get him a gift certificate at BP. My mom buys a lot of knick knacks and stuff so I usually get her one at Precious memories store.. So it all depends on the person i am getting it for.. PLUS I get tons of them from family members because they dont know what horror I have.. I get a lot for Best Buy, Circuit city and miscellaneous online shops
