TCM: Special Edition DVD
Okay, so I just ran out and bought The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Special Edition DVD. While sitting on the crapper, I decided to read the insert. According to it, the DVD was remastered, "eliminiting much of the film grain." Umm ... is it just me, or did the film grain really add something to the original film? It gave it a rough, urban feel to it. I have not yet watched the DVD, and am wondering what you all think about this before I do.

I own that version myself and it's a very good transfer if you ask me.
i really enjoy this copy of the film myself
i liked it
i can see what your saying stingy jack but i like it remastered
hmmm didnt know there's a remastered one, will search.
I understand what you are talking about. The grainy quality added to the despairing atmosphere of the film. You should have seen how it looked at a Drive-In which is were I saw it.
it did clear up alittle but not enough to take that urban feeling away.
its good

I get what your saying, but I'd swear there's things in this new print that I've never seen before. I like it.
