The Stand remake

Did anyone watch the first episode?

My thoughts: hated all the jumping around. Anyone who watched it who has not read the book, or watched the previous miniseries, will be completely confused. And, as much as I like Whoopie Goldberg, she's way too young to play Mother Abigail. At least do some old age makeup on her like they did with Ruby Dee.

Anyone else?

Stephen king's stories are too long and always have a 'cliche ending. Not worth the time spent reading them or the money to buy them. The only KING story made into a movie that I liked was THE DEAD ZONE. I love watching Christopher Wallken.

I thought the episode was quite slow and dull. And considering there’s about 20 main characters in this story and we’re only introduced to 5 I’m worried this will be a very slow moving tv show spanning over several seasons.

I didn’t think Whoopi played her role very well. But James Marsden is always solid. I liked him.

Not me. I'm still slow on King's series. I want to get into Dark Tower first. The Stand doesn't seem to be my sort of thing.
