A Message from Cheeba for your new year.

Hello forum,

So it's 3:25pm December 31st here in Australia as I start to write this.

The forum it seems, is currently enjoying a posting frequency and quality of new and existing members that's at one of the best levels I've seen in some time.

A lot of things have changed, while the old school still represents there's been something of a turnover in the last decade - though we've had a lot of good new additions.

I myself used to post prolifically, and while my life's taken me into some other areas that leaves me less available to do so - When I come in here, it still feels like coming back to my home town.
I'm at ease here, and while it's no more or less anonymous than most other websites, but I feel free to talk about whatever with you guys, the old especially but yeah some of the new guys and girls too, you know who you are.

It's just good to know, yknow...that even though I'm not forever on here, that the place isn't falling apart (and it's come close before) and like a pair of old boots, still fits just fine.

So yeah, I just wanted to say enjoy a happy and safe new year guys.
Those old, those new.
Whatever you're doing, all the best to have a good night of it.
Stay safe, stay hydrated.
From me and mine - to you and yours, Happy NYE and here's to the start of your best year yet.

- B.

Well said, Cheebs. HDC is a simple pleasure, but a pleasure it is!

Happy and healthy new year to all of you fine horror fans!

Funny where life takes us as the years go by. Glad one of the places I ended up was here. Happy New Years to your family, Cheeb.
Happy New Years to you all.

Happy New Year. Can't wait to see what horror occurs in 2016.

A toast to those members we lost this year. Raegan, neverending, newb, MovieLover12.

A toast to all the new mods this year. You've done a terrific job. In my book this is how mods should act. Being only visible when it's really necesserary, that's the way to keep a pleasant forum enviroment. Seems like people feel safe to write whatever they feel like and that's a huge plus in my book.

Merry christmas. See you next year.

Mods should be like umpires. Bad ones want to be the story of the game (or forum). Good ones let the participants interact. We've had both types at HDC but the current regime is super. Another toast to administrator Horror for appointing them.

Let's hear it for the newbies! But we wouldn't have found our way here and stayed without the members who stayed when the place looked deserted, and the wonderful mods who didn't take crap from anyone. Here's to you guys...

Have a fantastic New Year<33

This made me laugh, but it also made me consider those who won't be joining us in 2016 in anyway at all... We lost a lot of horror icons this year. It makes me fear losing even more in the years to follow... But we all have our time, and as long as we hold these treasures in our hearts, they will never be forgotten. So a toast to them too, for their influence in the world's greatest genre will be heavily missed.
