Digging Up the Marrow
 

Watched the trailer, it looks like they're flashing brief glimpses of the monsters to mask the possible low quality of the monsters. As well having just brief flashes of them is disappointing. Secondly the city(this is not a spoiler) 'mirroring' our city, it does not seem like they venture into it.

Is my impression from the trailer wrong?

The monsters have a very unique design -- almost Tim Burtonesque. It's not a traditional super scary monster style, which is intentional. It's as much comedy as it is horror. I liked it.

Not sure about the "city" part of your comment.
