A recommendation: Prodigal Son by Gary A. Braunbeck

Prodigal Son is a book by Gary A. Braunbeck. I received it in the mail when I was part of the book a month club from Cemetary Dance. I didn't read anything about the book. Just picked up and started reading.

So my recommendation is this. It is a really well written novel. If you're like me and let yourself get immersed in books/movies/tv shows this book will upset you, hurt you, surprise you, and in general exhaust you emotionally. The experience may sound bad, but its not. Its amazing.

My second part of my recommendation is to do like I did. Do not read anything about Prodigal Son. Just buy it and read. Do not read the "about the book" description from the back/inside jacket of the book or from websites or reviews.

Its out of Print, but can be gotten on amazon for about 13-25 dollars.

I've only read three of his books and a couple short stories, but I've really enjoyed all of them. "Haceldama" (the short story) is still probably my favorite.
