So yeah just found this website. I grew up with a father obsessed with horror movies. He collected every horror movie on VHS and dvd since he was 12. I cant say ive seen as many as him but im working on it.

I have a question.

My favorite movie of all time is silent hill. Ive seen it 3989 times since it came out and for years i couldnt sleep without it playing in the back ground.

Ive seen haunter and every movie i could find like silent hill but im sure im missing a few.

Does anyone know a movie i could watch

1. Like silent hill (supernatural horror)
2. Sad ending.
3. Depressing.
4.NOT silent hill revelation.
5. As twisted as possible (think the original UNCUT version of Grotesque (the japanese make))
6. NOT a slasher. ( not halloween or friday the 13th and NOT freddy.)
Ive seen every movie i could find. And im out of ideas.

I'd say The Road. It's a post apocalyptic heartbreaker.

So I take it you've seen "The Mist", that's usually the go-to when it comes to most of that criteria.

You want to take it a touch further, and want to be actually disturbed by a movie, it's a bit controversial but if you can get yourself a copy of "A Serbian Film", I'd recommend it. Despite its reputation, I think it's actually a pretty well made movie.
If you know nothing of it - probably best to go in that way.
Meets most, of your criteria, though it's not supernatural in any way.

I don't know why I feel like recommending this, but you might like "Cube".

As for mindfucky films...existenz? naked lunch? the 13th floor? Not strictly horror though.
Also try "In the mouth of Madness".

Sad and depressing horror?

The Seasoning House
Funny Games

Oh, and Eden Lake.

I suppose you like more nihilistic movies. Here are some good ones to try if you haven't:

Cube, Martyrs, The Last House on the Left, Oculus, Funny Games, Eden Lake, Event Horizon, Inside, and Absentia
