Scary "Lagging" or "Twitching" Monsters!
Hey everyone!
I have been a huge fan and i would say almost addict of horror flicks, since a very early age, but the problem is that nothing scares me anymore... EXCEPT! Monsters that have a special way of movement.. It is like they twitch and lag and break.. kinda.. it is very hard to describe, so i haven't been able to google it or anything else.. HELP! Movies where i have seen such kind movement: The Messengers - the monsters in the sealing and in the barn. The Ring/The Grudge/Shutter/One Missed Call - The Japanese women in such movies ALWAYS scares the shit out of me, and they often seem to have that kind of movement. Can you refer to other movies with that element that can scare me to death? I miss the thrill and adrenalin! PLEASE HELP ME GET THE GOOD OLD CHILDHOOD NIGHTMARES AGAIN! |
Was Jacob's Ladder the first to use this kinda thing?

You might like Kairo/Pulse.

The masters of horror episode "Fair-Haired Child" Sticks out in my mind as having a monster that moved that way

Don't laugh but the ghosts in the House of Haunted Hill remake definitely freaked me out. They definitely have a twitchiness to them...
Maybe Grave Encounters? Reeker perhaps. To go alone with the Asian horror theme, definitely check out Rinne (Reincarnation). I always found that their corporeal ghosts are really successfully scary. |
Sinister.

^^ Good call. And that makes me think of creatures in The Possession of David O'Riley.

Although it's not really intentional, you might enjoy watching a similar effect in the stop-motion monsters. Harryhausen era stuff - I've always enjoyed that style of moment, there's something romantic about it.

Mama
Dark Remains (Not breaking, but there's definitely some freaky ways of crawling) |
Possession movies are always good for that I think. The first chic we see being possessed in The Devil Inside had some really creepy, twitchy movements.
