Mobile Connections suck!!!

Or at least mine does....

My home connection died on me a couple of days ago and I'm without internet access until tomorrow, providing all goes well. Anyway, my brother had what is effectionatly known as a 'dongle' unused that he said I could have until I get up and running again. Figured it would be enough for keeping up to date on bits and pieces at least....so wrong.

Fast, reliable, unlimited access should really not be claims that this system makes. Surfing the web is much more like drowning in an eternal loading cycle and loading up a web page is an either an exercise in patience or futility. This thing is the ultimate tease, it threatens to deliver only to kick you in the balls at the last second. In short, it sucks... I've said all that just to vent since I know when I click 'submit new thread' I'm gonna have to relog in again and wait 5 minuites for it to load only to have it not send anway.

Now now- US Robotic modems ruled! I was, for a time, running five different internet radio stations over one dialup connection.

Super Z Modem, ARJ, DOS... ah the good ol' days....

When I was a boy.... :D

My first modem was a 2400 baud modem. Yep, 2.4kbps. Made 56kbps modems looks fast. But it cost over $1000 at the time.

I swear this thing is the worst connection I ever had, worse than dial up. That said, I'll happily block out all bad memories and cling to the one day when things were going fine just so I can pine for better days.

When all I got to moan about is a shitty internet connection life is pretty damn good...
