Browsing the main page, found the Nightmare on Elm Street trailer and this quote.

"The brand new trailer from A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010. Krueger's voice is revealed... and he sounds a lot like Rorschach from Watchmen. Shouldn't be surprising, considering the source -- aactor Jackie Earle Haley plays both remorseless villains -- but to me, it's a little disconcerting."

Not talking about the movie, but does anyone else think it's a bit unfair to call Rorschach a villain? He is a bit demented, but he's more of an anti-hero, anyone else agree, or disagree?

Yeah definitely an anti-hero. In the end he's the one who stands up to Veidt. I can;t really say I think anyone in the Watchmen was a villain though. It was written to make people think. I suppose if you really want to place anyone as a villain, it depends on you perception of what is right and wrong. If you agree with Veidt's plan to stop the possible War, then Rorschach is you bad guy. If you disagree with the mass murder, veidt is your bad guy.

Rorschach is an insane vigilante, but he's no remorseless villain. I don't think desensitization or schizophrenia really classify a person as lacking remorse.

Yeah, I always assumed the evil entity is the human race as a whole. They revere and fear (Dr. Manhattan) or sexualize (Silk Specter) the heroes after demonizing them. Hardly taking into account all the good they did (winning the Vietnam war for example).

I did see The Comedian as the most villainous, but only by his actions. I did like his philosophy.....

The Comedian's nihilism makes him a pretty awful person. I don't think of him as an outright villain, though. One of the points Moore is making in Watchmen is that heroism and villainy are often extraneous and the world can save or destroy itself without them.

Even the weird monster. He just wanted a hug.

Yeah I think thats the point (unless I'm missind something) - despite what the Watchmen are doing to save the world (inc Doctor Manhattan) that the world is gonna kill itself...only Veidt sees this and trys to 'change things'...

Yeh that's the way I see it.

Anti-hero, for sure.
