horror for mtv viewers!

Is it just me, or are do most of these "remakes" and new horror movies just look like extended music videos or commercials!
Horror used to be deeply subversive and inventive now its just ooh look how well these jeans fit me (tcsm03). Take dawn of the dead(1978/79) that movie had some seep themes the remake is just souless!

yeah it seems like a lot of the horror coming out now has that popie teenie boppin feel to it. I think it results from the pictues objective. Now a days its all about the money....yeah they want to try to make it scary but also have it be a blockbuster. Good horror in my book isnt a blockbuster. As the english rapper the streets says "cult classic not best seller" Until people start making movies to be seen and not for the money i think well continue to have this problem

I know what you mean. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake was made for teenager audiences, so there was no "real" horror, just chase scenes and "pop out of no where" scenes. But the Texas Chainsaw Massacre original version was not all that great tho, but they did a pretty good job with the budget they had.
