new television diplay set-up
Just got a new television and was wondering if'n ya'll had any tips for setting up the display. It's just a decent little set, but compared to what i've been using it is awesome. Any time that i mess with the current settings (contrast, bightness, shapness, etc) i usually just make things worse. It seems like there was one movie out there, maybe it was Eraser Head, that actually had a demonstration or something on how to adjust the screen settings. Thanks as always. Late.

We got a new 29-incher not too long ago which came with 3-4 presets. I just hit the one which showed the best display and started tweaking it according to my liking. Once I zeroed in on my preference, I saved it.
I d say its 65% Contrast, 60% Brightness and 50% Color. (Anything above 55% and you can see color spots which blotches the image) You can keep Sharpness at around 70% but some channels might have heightened Sharpness already which messes up the image. Better to let that be. Dont touch Tint either. For night viewing, go for 5% extra on each of those above. Best viewed with a dim light somewhere behind you, high enough to not cast its shadow on the screen. Then again, all that shit depends on the TV and its make too. |
Grazie. i'll give that a try later today. Ashe.

What sort of TV is it? Because if it is a plasma you should run it in a lower brightness mode (eg "Cinema" mode or similar) for the first 1-200 hours.

It's no plasma but thanks for the concern. It's just a little Toshiba flat-screen. Ashe.
