I would say that this thread sovers most of the movies that have affected us. http://www.horror.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30312

All depends on what you mean by affected us. Is this a negative effect, like scarred us for life? Or had a positive effect, like inspired us to create art, write novels and scripts, make movies of our own?

One movie that really messed with me was Hellraiser. Movies that have inspired me are more along the NotLD, zombie genre etc. Non Horror movies that have had a positive effect on me are Pay it Forward... yeah I don't really know what else.

i guess what i was getting at was to compile a list of the most profound or life changing movie for each of us w/o regard to the actualilty of the effects that were caused. For many of us here, i am sure that we were mainly disturbed or scarred by a movie. Jaws would be a great example. But it also be fun to see other affective modalities, such as inspirations (as ya mentioned) and epiphanies and such. i hope that this clarifies mine intent.:) Ashe.

Bergman's Cries and Whispers, disturbing in its portrayal of sickness and death, really affected me.

Class Of 1984, Savage Streets, The Terminator, Mad Max and Robocop

These all really blew me away as a kid and formed my love of film.
