Rock Band!

So, what is everyone's favorite song(s)? Least favorites? What do you prefer to play on? Etc.

I love:

Cherub Rock
Reptilia
Say It Ain't So
I Think I'm Paranoid
Main Offender

Etc.

I HATE:

Vasoline
Welcome Home
Dead On Arrival
Green Grass and High Tides
and a few others drive me crazy.

I prefer to drum, at least i'm best at that. I can beat most of them on hard, but only a few on expert. I'm decent at guitar, and getting a lot better. I can do half on hard on guitar.

I suck at all the other instuments, buts its practically sad what I can do with the guitar. I played guitar hero WAY too much.

Not necessarily the case with me. I took my hand with music when I was younger. From piano to marching band geek to jazz saxophone to a summer filled with guitar lessons - When it comes down to it while I loved playing saxophone, I wasn't all that coordinated with the guitar to a point where I didn't enjoy it. A couple of friends tried to teach me how to play the drums but I'm pretty uncoordinated there, too. :o Rockband is pure utter fantasy escapism. Sure, I'd love to really learn how to play the drums, but, honestly, I live in a teeny tiny apartment - There is no place where I could conceivably keep a drumset and I would probably drive my downstairs neighbors to murder.

So, I create my hot little avatar chick and rock out with my virtual drumset to some pretty fun music. It's not my favorite game for the 360. In fact, I'm kinda over it... BUT it's a fun party game. Nothing more, nothing less.

...

But back to the question at hand:

I LOVE
  • Creep (I wish they had more Radiohead songs)
  • Maps
  • Sabotage
  • Here It Goes Again
  • Say It Ain't So
  • Should I Stay Or Should I Go
  • Ballroom Blitz
  • Wave of Mutilation

I HATE
  • Green Grass and High Tides
  • Orange Crush (not because it's hard; it's just SO monotonous bleah)
  • Blitzkrieg Bop (for the same reason)
  • Wanted Dead or Alive (again, for the same reason)
  • Enter Sandman
  • Welcome Home

Seriously, how long does it take you to learn how to use those to beat it on the hardest difficulty? And when you're done, what do you have to show for it? You probably could have learned the 5-6 chords on guitar, bass, etc., in the time it took you to learn one song on the highest difficulty.

Sorry, but actually being a musician, these games are a disgrace. My friend John's whole claim to fame, is that he can kick your ass at Guitar Hero, when in fact, he can actually play drums. Instead of finding time to practice with his band, he spends 90% of his time playing Rock Band or Guitar Hero.

You're an idiot if you think that's the case. I play the drums, two of my cousins and my brother play the guitar (all three can play a little drums and bass while one plays banjo and mandolin as well), and we all have fun together with Rock Band. More often than not nobody wants to sing so I get stuck doing it but it's still a blast. Sorry your drummer is addicted to video games...

The only song on your hate list that I like Posh is Vasoline, but Chrono... how could you not like The Ramones? :(

lighten up, rock star...

i dont mind vasoline - although i lose my voice when i sing it.

i cant sing for shit but i can score almost perfect on Dont Fear the Reaper on expert - because it's an easy song.

i prefer drumming to anything else though

I knoooooooooooow!

I think what happened was that we kept on playing "random set list" and it kept coming up - I just got tired of it. From the drummer's standpoint it's REALLY boring. I actually liked the song before Rock Band!
