Halloween Cooking!

Some people are cooking Halloween things now. And I suppose the stores have pumpkin pies and things. There are pumpkins in some stores and I even bought a couple of little ones for making into pumpkin stir-fry. It has been suggested that I do a BAKED PUMPKIN with brown sugar and butter and I would like to try this, maybe with some marshmallows to give it that candied yam sort of quality!

I bet some of you are cooking some Halloween stuff, maybe even some cookies with orange and black sprinkles on them!

I had a cupcake last week that had orange frosting and little tiny candy BATS on it!

I bet you can find a nice pumpkin pie cheep though! Last year some store had 'em for $3.99...you can make a nice spiced chai tea also, the pumpkin pie spices lend a cozy quality to this tastiness.

No NO!...Buy a pumpkin for $1 and MAKE a pie!

I do that every year...Actually, a normal jack-o-lantern sized pumpkin makes 6-8 pies:eek:

Nothing beats home-made :)

Oh YES, do this...You will really like it

You can do it with acorn squash (and butternut squash), too :)

I can't bake, my oven doesn't work (for the second time, it was mysteriously working for awhile then stopped again, nothing works right in this house, I think I have haints, and yes my southern is showing ;) ), we need a new one. Its probably for the best though, because as I am sure I have mentioned somewhere around here, Jen+cooking of any kind usually equals disaster. :D

Now you people are talking my language...yes, let's make some pies! Sorry jenna about your oven, maybe you do have a haint! But I wish that you find a fine pie somewhere else!!

If anyone has a Jamba Juice nearby they're currently featuring a pumkin drink that is simply AMAZING.
