Visions of a desolate world overflowing with glorious mutations, uncontrollable sexual depravities, extreme guttural violence, blaring obscenity, spiritual corruption, moral mayhem, and self-mutilation, as seen through the graphically savage eyes of: Mike Diana - creator of Boild Angel and the only artists ever convicted of Obscenity and legally no allowed to draw for almost 3 years just for a comic book he drew!!! Victor Cayro a.k.a Bald Eagles - self-taught artist whos work oozes with the virtues of the groutesque and beautiful. His amazingly detailed works mix 80's action movie demi-god, ultra violence, and scathing humor into a personal mythology flowing straight from his id. David Magdaleno - A Los Angeles native who's work has gradually mutated into an inspired mix of Day of the Dead themes, classic skateboard graphics, psychedelic horror, and low-brow comedy. Keenan Marshall Keller- Los Angeles artist and curator whos continuously works on drawings, zines, commix, and putting together kick-ass art shows such as this one. His work flows from dark psychedelia filled with mutants, 3rd eyes, magik and surreal landscapes; to full color pieces of humor and absurdity. he's always getting fucked. He actually went to jail for drawing a comic book! Ande then he was sentenced to 3 years probation in which he wasn't allowed to draw ANYTHING...and the police routinely raided his home to try to find evidence that he had broken his probation so they could lock him up again! Just for drawing pictures!:eek: :eek: :eek: Anyway, the show is tonight. If you're in L.A. yuo should copme on down and say "hi" |

I hate that anyone could get locked up for a piece of art. The whoole idea of obscenity drives me absolutely crazy. It all depends on your defenition of obscene. People get in trouble with the law just for taking pictures of their children. I can't remember the Australian art magazine that posted a picture of a tastefully nude little girl on their cover and the PM or whatever, had them pulled from news stands. rediculous!

Been on DA. Total double-standard. Nudie photographers get away with murder, while artists get tossed for any violation they can think of. And don't go brandishing any images of penisi(sorry, don't know how to pluralize it) as it will quickly get you banola-ed. Not a climate for free expression, AT ALL!
