Scarlet Veronica: How it's made!

Hey I'm Jason Moody- artist and co-creator of Ape Entertainment's new Action/Horror comic Scarlet Veronica.http://scarletveronica.com

This week is Orders week and will determine the future of Scarlet Veronica! So PLEASE go to your local comic shop
and tell them you want Scarlet Veronica... *beg*
Our diamond order code is AUG08 3733- so help us out!

you can also buy it online http://heavyink.com/title/3747-Scarlet-Veronica or http://www.tfaw.com/Comics/Profile/S...of-4)___329154

I wanted to show you guys a little bit of our process. So I thought I'd show you the "pencils to polished" procedure of a page of Scarlet Veronica. This is the Cover for issue 2

So I start with sketching out the image on Blue Line Pro art board. I scan it in 2 pieces and then put them back together in photoshop. Then I import the image into a program called Manga Studio Ex. It's a great digital inking tool. I reduce the opacity of the imported sketch. and I make a new layer and start inking! ^.^
Zombie Santa's first.

I do each part of the image on separate layers. I have Santa turned out for now- and Veronica and the Tree are all on different layers. This makes it easier to apply any kind of effect on the individual characters in Photoshop- or if I wanna move elements around- what have you.

OK- so, I decided that I really wasn't liking the image of Veronica. So I sketched out a new one, scanned it, and imported it. Then I copy that final inked image and paste it into the Issue 2 Cover file.

After I'm done inking, I export the image as a PSD and open it in Photoshop. I start laying down the color flats. wooo.

then, after I finish flatting the pic, I send it off to Justin Greathouse http:greathouse.deviantart.com colorist/render artist extraordinaire (thanks spell check). and bingo bango- we got a cover!
