Scariest movies ever?

So I have a slow work week coming up and will be bored, so I'm looking for recommendations on what movies scared you all the most so I can download them and not be so bored. Thanks :)

Honestly, I think most people can agree on the scariest movies out there are The Exorcist (1973), The Shining (1980), and Psycho(1960).

The Evil Dead (1981) frightened me a lot when I was younger.

I didn't think any of those were scary. But I don't find much stuff scary unless it's something involving nature, or something that could be scientifically possible, like 28 Days Later.

honestly, except for the shining, id have to agree with Posher. the exorcist was laughable, and Psycho, as good as it may be, is honestly far too dated to be scary.

I saw THE WOMAN IN BLACK live in London in a little theater off Covent Garden...WAY scarier than anything I've ever seen in a movie. Genuinely spine-tingling. I loved 'Don't Look Now,' great 70's British flick. It's a slow burn, but with a great payoff.

I think Alien and The Thing are some of the scariest. The Descent is way up there too.

I have to agree with both of you on this one... Exorcist never scared me, though I have to admit that Psycho scared me when I was younger...

...

When I was younger, Carnival of Souls also scared the HELL out of me... Though it doesn't necessarily hold up over time...

Movies that scared the HELL out of me in recent years:
  • Blair Witch Project
  • Alien
  • Aliens
  • Halloween
  • The Descent
  • Ils (Them)
  • Inside
  • Crazy Eights

Only movie to scare the hell out of me would be,Pumpkinhead.
