wandered into a source and saw it - like the fucking holy grail - staring me right in the face ..

a usb turntable with software to rip your vinyl straight to high quality mp3's.

i'm in love.

only had the time to test it with one tune so i ripped Mamma's Boy from the City Boy 'Dinner At The Ritz" album - easy as hell to use - and it sounds great.

when i get the time - i'll be converting all of my rare vinyl ...

this is sooooooooooooo SWEET !!!!!

That's a nice unit. You'll have a lot of fun with it.

It is a great gizmo to tinker around with. Beware of vinyls that skip though, they are most likely unrecoverable and they might scratch the tiny diamond pin of the playing-stick.

hopefully that wont be a problem - i've taken immaculate care of my vinyl ... my 1st ones (since having a decent stereo) still look mint.

but the other thing i did ... since the unit was on sale - i spent the money i saved to extend the warrantee to 3 years. i knew i'd be getting a ton of use out of it.

I really want a turntable. Not necessarily to rip things to CDs, I just wanna be able to make mix songs.

Nice....I already have a stand-alone cd burner hooked up to my stereo, and I've burnt quite a few CDs from my album collection. Sounds pretty good.

There are all kinds of awesome programs that you can use to clean up clicks and pops on these things, if you need to. I am still finding great vinyl stuff, love looking through thrift stores for little goodies for a dollar or two...old tiki records, forgotten new wave classics. I love a good Halloween sound effects record too, I LOVE TO HEAR THE DUST AND SCRATCHES, I DON'T CARE, IT'S PART OF THE EXPERIENCE.

I was at an estate sale and we passed a record player, I had to explain to my girls what it was and what it did
