BoomFest '08 and Stuart Gordon Want 'Re-Animator' Fan Films

In honor of special guest Stuart Gordon, the 2008 Boomtown Film and Music Festival is putting out a call to filmmakers who would like to submit their own 'Re-Animator' fan film. The finalists will be screened at BoomFest '08 and the winner will be selected by Stuart Gordon himself, director of the 1985 classic, and will be recognized at awards ceremony on May 17, 2008.

There is no entry fee, but all submissions must be received by May 1. Filmmakers may enter a narrative short, fake trailer, music video or any other kind of fan film so long as it is based (even loosely) on H.P. Lovecraft's original stories. All entries must be no longer than three minutes in length.

We strongly encourage filmmakers to upload their submissions to YouTube with the words "BoomFest Re-Animator Contest" in the description, but to be an official entrant your fan film must sent on DVD or VHS to the Boomtown Film Festival office at 720 Franklin St. Beaumont, TX 77701. Again, May 1 is the deadline. Good luck!
