All the Boys Love Mandy Lane is a teen slasher, not a genre well known for quality cinematography and character development. When all the effort is put into special efffects and solely on the intent to instantaniously shock you with a jumping cat they seem to lose out on real fear.
Mandy Lane may have that extra beauty and involvement that we got from The Shinning (although that is impossible to match).
