this is mostly for the writers around here, but any "good" idea will fit.


Ever have any ideas that you thought were sublimely inspired, only to discover or decide they werent all that great?


I have close to a hundred story ideas that never made it to paper, or never got past the first page or two because they were unworkable, pointless, or just plain bad.

some examples:

when i worked at Fidelity, i had to go up a stairwell to get to the cafeteria, and was usually alone. I thought up a story of a cynical businessman who is warned by a young boy not to go into the stairwell to avoid the elevator crowd in a skyscraper. He scoffs, takes the stairwell, and gets chansed and eaten by a giant spider creature.

I shafted the idea because it is used, boring, and about as original as a pong knock off

I am not really a crappy german director. Just his Bolls.

It being conceptual diarrhoea is a good reason not to proceed with this one.

That and the spelling issues - inexcusable for any fantastic writer.
