The meaning behind your Screen name

thought this would be a good idea. something fun to do. whta does oyur screen name mean?
mine's rather obvious. The Mothman Prophecies used to creep me out hardcore, plus i have always thought it was a pretty interesting myth/legend or whatever you should call it.

mordrid 05-23-2007 07:32 AM

Mine is because of my love for Arthurian legend and a major joint the night I made the screen name. I meant to use Mordred, but Mordrid was what I used instead. Have had it for 10 years or so now.

Papillon Noir 05-23-2007 08:05 AM

"Papillon Noir" is french for "Black Butterfly".

I had been using "Noir" (it's dark and mysterious :p), but when I went to register here, it had already been taken (though I don't know by whom ). I had also had just come back from a trip to Niagara Falls and we went to the Butterfly Conservatory there. It was absolutely amazing, you walk into this greenhouse and all these exotic butterflies (some larger than your hand) just flutter around you. Anyway, on the way out they have what the word "butterfly" is in 20 different languages, so I thought it just fit. :)

jenna26 05-23-2007 08:14 AM

Jenna is a character in one of my short stories, one I wrote years ago, when I was about 15 or 16. It was the first thing that popped in my head when I was registering here. And I was 26 at the time, very original huh?

toXsick 05-23-2007 08:22 AM

I'm from New Jersey. That should explain it. ;)

The funky spelling just made it more obnoxious, which I found funny at the time, and the cap "X" is because I was trying to be even more clever, if that is even possible. I guess it makes it X-tra nasty. :D

the_real_linda 05-23-2007 08:22 AM

actually it is.....well its not horror related anywhos....or is it?

"I go by many names"-xander (btvs)

i used to go by one of the characters in one of my high school scripts....since she was partly based on me anyways

Mictlantechutli 05-23-2007 08:23 AM

Mictlantechutli is the Aztec Lord of the Realm of Death whose feast day was co-opted by the Catholic Church and has become Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead (All Soul's Day)

Always been fascinated with Aztec and Mayan myth, particularly the ritual human sacrifice. And what's not to love about the people who introduced chocolate and chiles to the world?
