After Rocky Balboa...its John Rambo!

May 13, 2007

Stallone talks about the upcoming John Rambo in an Italian mag (translated) :-

The film is about a restless veteran of Vietnam with a budget that is approximately $50 Million and produced by John Thompson.

"RAMBO was presold all over the world," Thompson tells..."We found an intact interest for this character/maladjusted person who is much more than a machine of war", he states during a break looking at the sequence that is hardly finished.

Its director, Sly Stallone, with a Cuban cigar in his lips, says: "During the years where my phone never rang...I thought -with pain and resignation- that for me as actor it was finished. I felt that Rocky and Rambo had the capacity nevertheless to boost me.

The success of my last Rocky film offered Rambo a second life. I reshaped the last adaptations and I wondered, what is the current war today which goes by most unnoticed and that which immortalizes genocides and violence and creates maladjusted persons, rebels, mercenaries to summarize the wreck of any peace ideal?

I met war correspondents; I read a lot! Everyone that I interviewed answered me: there is a terrible political, social, religious war in Burma. I went there, I crossed the country and I wrote this story."

So many years have been crossed since RAMBO had been born in 1982 (with FIRST BLOOD) and in the President of the USA at that time was Ronald Reagan, who often quoted the hero in his speeches.

"Rambo was always apolitical," Stallone reminisces, "the others used him in diverse purposes. I continue to make my cinema based on social realism. In the film, there is no word against the USA. I want to speak about the Country, the truth , with people of any races or classes.

But at the beginning of the film this man (Rambo) speaks once again against all the wars. Nobody ever walks away victorious of the horror of a conflict and some cult of the death and the weapons. The world is in chaos, and because of the wars many of the young people meet themselves as more disorientated than ever in the society."

Rambo is confronted with genocides, with military power, with civil war in Burma...

I hope none of it. If they degenerate it to a PG-13 like Live Free or Die Hard then it will make me really angry.

The uncut version will kick ass so bad the box office is gonna reel all 2007.

Yo Burma!...here comes R a m b o!!:D

theres no way they are cutting enough of the gore out to make it PG-13.
i have a feeling it'll be the most violent movie of the year.(08)
