the keep remake?

i was checking out imdb and under the keep there was a reference to the year 2009. i couldn't access it, and i may be jumping the gun, but are they remaking it?

One can hope if they do, they'll do a better job of adapting the book. It's a great story, the original movie didn't do it justice.

Hell, I'd be happy if they would finally quit fighting and release the original on DVD already. There have been lawsuits and all kinds of idiocy over that.

good info. didn't know that. is there any light at the end of the legal wrangling tunnel? go to the imdb and search the keep and you'll see an entry for 2009. i couldn't access it and i know its not much to go on but i can only hope that 2 + 2= 4.

I agree I've been waiting for that dvd for an eternity. I had to settle for a vhs to dvd conversion of the thing. Not as good as the book but I can't help but love this flick.

At this time IMDB says The Keep is in developement and due for a 2012 release. Very little info on this one, may or maybe not a remake.

Would be nice if it was true. But I don't think (as always) it can beat the original.
And 2012.. Too far away :p

The original The Keep was made when the series the book is in was barely existent. Now F. Paul Wilson has a 14 book strong mythology to draw off of and put the film into context. Not to mention the original wasn't the best adaptation. In this case, if you're looking at remake value, you have to look at the books as the source material, not the movie.

FYI a signed 1st edition of The Keep on ebay.co.uk BiN for £20. I nearly bought it but I'm trying to concentrate on only collecting Italian horror stuff.
