A Creepshow Sequel AND A REMAKE?!

Was I the only one NOT aware of this?

Read the reviews/comments for Creepshow 3...Sounds like it's worse than terrible:

Re: The Remake:

Creepshow Gets Remade

"Creepshow," the 1982 horror anthology movie written by Stephen King and directed by George A. Romero, is getting the remake treatment according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Although in the original anthology the stories -- which were written in the old 1950s EC Comics style -- were unconnected, the plan is to structure the new movie a la "Go," where individual stories will have interconnected characters and situations.

Warner Brothers Pictures is developing the remake, which will be produced by Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment along with Taka Ichise of OZ LA and Tony Ludwig. Between Vertigo and OZ LA, the two companies produced and executive produced both the original versions and English-language remakes of "The Ring," "The Grudge" and "Dark Water."

I was up for this gig last year. They have no idea what they want. It'll be a mess.

Have heard about both for a while now. Remake of the stories could be good if they're done right, I'll wait to see it before I pass judgement. The remake is far more understandable than the sequel IMO. You can remake a body of work without having been involved with the original but to do a 3rd film without any of the prior films talent just seems wrong. I think Joushuabe (I know I'm spelling it wrong) actually gave some praise to number 3 though...

Gets me to thinking, I dn't much give a fuck about this third one, but I wouldn't mind grabbing 1&2 for my dvd collection. I know I'll see the third though.
Hey, anyone ever see "freakshow"? Was that somehow related, or just a wannabe?

The 1989 version kinda reminds me of Something Wicked This Way Comes, but it has short stories too
The 1999 version is a like Sideshow
The 1995 version has Gunnar Hansen in it (also with short stories)...Hmmm
