Expand my horizons...

I tend to be a bit curious about the world around me...Probably, attributed to the fact that the one I live in seems to be so very small...LOL...

So, I was wondering what it's like where you guys are...I would love it if everyone could look out their windows and tell me what they saw...I think that it would be sort of like visiting other places...

As for myself...very boring...I am currently at a public library in Kentucky...All that I see out of these windows is a lot of trees with no leaves, except for all of the evergreens, a road with very few cars passing by, and a huge nursing home across the street...There has GOT to be something more exciting somewhere else...

Snow with Trees

It seems like so many people on here are from Kentucky. lol :D

I think I'm in the same situation as you, I live in a small town in a small wooded area. There's not much to do except for watching TV. Most local kids drive around the Wal-Mart parking lot on Fridays.

I live in a fairly big city (well, it's kinda big in Belgium, which isn't saying alot). Pretty cold right now, we're expecting snow this night (the first time this year in our neigborhood). It only snows, like, maybe 3 or 4 times a year. Our city also has the biggest marketsquare in Belgium (which, again, isn't saying alot). But it's also in the top 5 of the biggest marketsquares in Europe. We also have a mall and a movietheatre. That pretty much sums it up.

Where I live there are TONS of people from all different nationalities. Im about 3 blocks from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Usually see Transit buses and whatnot.

As for what I see out my window right now, 3 cranes, a 800ft smoke stack, a god awful ugly montrous lookin green building, forklifts, and about 150 of the laziest people Ive ever hired lol

Lucky me, I am in NYC. It's my favorite city in the world! Tokyo, London, and San Francisco come in close afterwards. I plan to travel further to really research more cities though. Unfortunately i have no windows in my office area, but today it's very nice, sunny, and 45 degrees out, beautiful for mid-winter. Of course as Joey Ramone sang in Sheena is a punk Rocker, "New York City really has it all." or something like that :)
I'm preparing for a big rock n' roll show with my band tonight and expect all kinds of fun people to be there. That's a great thing here. A good music scene. Also a good art scene full of cartoonists. DC and Marvel comics have their offices here. The food is amazing and you can get great stuff cheap. Especially in Chinatown. Plus many good art theaters and video stores to find all your horror faves.
Of course there are the negative sides like high rent, dirt, and crowding. But I don't mind those things when there's so much to do. Crime is not as bad as people assume it is. You just have to be a little street smart.
The big news today is of course the New Year's Eve Times Square ball drop and wether it's safe to go or if people avoid it due to fear of terrorism. Personally I've never liked the Times Square New Year's scene because I do not like being in huge crowds of insane drunken tourists (don't like parades either, except the Halloween one is OK). Still I don't think people should avoid it if that's what they want to do. I live near the Brooklyn Bridge and sometimes walk home over it. It's a beautiful sight! I am just making ends meet and work very hard for it, but feel lucky every day for where I get to live. There are so many great opportunities, sights, and people to meet in the city. (I know I barely mentioned the museums, architecture, broadway, etc. all that stuff is great too!)

SNOW.

It won't stop snowing. We didn't have any snow until the end of November, so now Mother Nature is making up for lost time. Snow, snow, and guess what? More snow! At least it's not actually snowing anymore.

Oh yea and there's some trees and buildings. But mostly, it's just snow.

Poshdom or Petdom you decide

Abbycomix, I want your life.

I'm sitting in the breakfast nook of my parent's home in Bumblefuck NC. Looking out of my window I see a porch that overlooks a posh golf course. (Lush green golf courses are not, except for 3-4 months out of the year). The sky is a brilliant blue with no clouds in sight. The geese that fly over, occaisionally, make it more picturesque. There's a nice lake (humanmade) that runs by...at least its a somewhat a body of water Also, if I can strain my neck, I see Saydee (a.k.a Shaydee or Mommy's Girl), my Springer-Setter mix bounding around the yard (she lives in a world that is all her own). She's my baby. Down stairs on the bed in my newly Feng Shui-ed room, Irish (a.ka. Satan or Mommy's baby) sleeps tonigh. Also at the top of my closets sleeps Liza (a.k.a Crackhead or Mommy's Baby Girl), my token black cat. In our spacey livingroom, my grandma is watching The Crocodile Hunter as he counts down the best of the crazy shit he does. I admire someone who loves animals as much as Steve.

Oh, as for the pets....I don't have children, I have 2 cats and a dog. (Really wants a Rottweiler puppy named Elvis and an African Gray name Jethro)
