Alone again, naturally
 

I've been gone for quite some time, and I thought I'd make a thread explaining, if anyone cares. Just after Christmas, my girlfriend told me that she didn't love me anymore, and she was leaving. Since then I've pretty much been wandering around in a daze, in a black hole of depression. For the first time, this morning I woke up feeling as if I could finally rejoin the human race. I'm far from over it, but maybe I can start moving in that direction soon. Unfortunately, I've got two months before the lease is up on our apartment, so I get to rattle around here with our memories. Fun, huh? Anyway, I'm not dead, hello again.

We've all been there, Noc. Sucks. Good to see you've come out of the coma. Stick around, because there's so much "fun" to be had here. Really. I swear it.

Well... at least it might take your mind off of a few things.

Noc- welcome back my man! So sorry to hear about the demise of your relationship - believe me I've been there on several occassions and feel your pain. I've always engaged in a ritual burning. I take some object that represents that relationship - a picture or something small (and nothing valuable - hell, i'm not stupid!) - and burn it in some open space. Watching the smoke lift and dissipate reminds me that these memories and the pain will also drift away. (of course I also usually do this when i'm almost blind drunk, so its not quite as poignant as it sounds).

Anyway - remember, we're here for you!!!

Thanks for your replies, guys. I honestly thought that no one would care. Zero, the "ritual burning" is probably a good idea. I'm just... not ready to let go of anything just yet. Maybe in a couple of months. Why does it seem like this kind of shit always happens around the holidays? Most wonderful time of the year, my ass.

Sorry to hear about this, but hey, try to get out and do a party tonight, socialize a little, that usually helps. Feel better!

I'm sorry to hear that man, I know your pain. My girlfriend left me on Thanks Giving.....< Thanks a lot. lol.

But the best thing to do is move on. Things will get better, it takes awhile, but it does get better.

The main thing to keep in mind though, what you had before will remain nothing but memories. They fade overtime, but are never erased in whole. Just learn how to sit back and laugh at it all. You'll make it though, all of us here know you will. :)

Sorry to hear bout the relationship fizzling out bro. When the wound is raw it is bound to hurt. Let Time heal it and you ll be fine in no time again.

Think of it in this way, "When one door closes, several others open." Just take some time out of your life and indulge in other activities to engage yourself, man. Let yourself back into the mainstream slowly. In time, all will change.

I'm in the same boat right now. My marriage is ending, and he's being a selfish prick. Unfortunately, breakups do not bring out the best in people....you can tell yourself it's going to get better, and you don't need them, and anything else to make yourself feel better, but it still hurts. Especially when they take the car and leave you with two kids and no food in the house.

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother.

I'm sorry that all I have is this information (which I'm sure is quite irrelevant to most people), instead of some words of wisdom or comfort...I really AM terrible at the consoling thing, I never know what to do or say...BUT, I figured I could at LEAST pass on this info (because it's all I've got)...And if it means ANYTHING to any of you, this phase usually turns out to be a VERY good thing...Don't forget about the 'rebirth' part...Think of the Phoenix

I feel really bad for you guys...I seriously wish I could do something...Break ups are ESPECIALLY difficult for Tauruses (and Cancers, Geminis and Libras)...:(
