Advice for a budding bondage buff? (Bloodrayne, I'm looking at you)

Right now all I have is a pair of handcuffs, some chains, a riding crop, and a cat o' nine tails (although there are ten strips, so I guess it's a boy cat). I'm pretty good at knots and the like, and I think I have some rope I can clean up and use.

No paddles??

the paddling thing isn't really my bag. If I go down that route I'd either use one of the whipping implements I've got, a rope-whip, or just use my hand. I may get a paddle at some point, but I'm mostly into the binding

Any balls, gags, or masks?

Oh and depending on your bed...

I dunno if I'd go for the mask thing just yet, but the ball gag thing I'm working on.

Make sure you use smooth-fiber rope. A lot of conventional ropes have snags and pops that can take your skin off. Nylon rope works pretty well.

The only problem with nylon is that sometimes the braided rope, when given slack, tends to loosen the braid creating small holes which can then pinch and cause blood blisters or bruises when pulled tightly. If that's a problem for you, who knows. :)

Yeah, pretty much all the stuff I've seen says to use a high-friction rope
