Virus going around?
 

Guys, Im pretty sure there's a virus going around, just want to warn you about it.

I was on MSN Messenger and a person that I rarely talk to came on and said something to the effect of "Omg is that you??" followed by a link.

Needless to say I click the link and (stupidly enough) click Yes to open the picture.

A file starts downloading to my computer...not sure what the filename was, but I deleted it because as soon as it downloaded, messages started popping up on my screen from other people saying the same thing.

So far Im not really sure what it's doing...no real damage yet, but it keeps sending the message + link to certain contacts. It also opens a notification box saying:

"Runtime Error '-2147467259 (8004005)

Method '~" of object '~' failed"

Im running a virus scan and it says it found a Trojan Horse Downloader .Generic2.QMV

Just so you know, do not click it.

Use Panda or NOD32, and run spyware checks.

If in doubt, download and run HijackThis and post your scan on a PCTech forum for boffin advice.

Virus?, I haven't seen him in ages!

Viruses aside, messengers are the most annoying thing on the internet. I won't use them any more. There's nothing more irritating than being in the middle of reading or writing something and then some dick you hardly know starts trying to chat with you and the box keeps popping up. Messenegers are my biggest pet peeve. I hate them!

Yeah I think im going to get rid of yahoo, but is there a way to just block them of when you don't want to be botherd?

that happend 2 me last night aswell, i clicked on it but when i saw u had 2 open whatever it was i clicked off it. glad i did now.
i've blocked the person who it was lol

Anyone know how I can get yahoo messenger of my computer, I can't see what file it is?

have u gone 2 control panel then add or remove programs?
