Gift advice
So my cousin is turning two and I'm sending a gift. After spending a lot of time thinking about what to get I came to the decision that I wanted to get the movies "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad" and "Nightmare before Christmas."
I'm worried that Nightmare before Christmas might be too scary and I just wanted to ask the HDC members with little uns of their own about when you started watching movies like Nightmare before Christmas with your kids. I wouldn't even have thought of it, my friend said that Nightmare before Christmas scared her as a child sooooo thought I'd ask. I'll probably end up asking my aunt anyway because it would be sent to seattle and I don't think amazon have an exchange dealy. :D |
well, my kids (9 & 3) love Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride, but my three year-old is a little spooked by the Disney version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow - but he loves the Tim Burton Sleepy Hollow, so go figure.
I'd say either is a safe bet. And there's nothing wrong with being scared as a child. I'm sure tat's why all of us are here at HDC today:) |
Nightmare On Elm St. is a good one. :D
Nah, I have no clue. I'm not good with kids. :( |
of course you wamt to take my advice with a grain of salt, as this is what I think of as children's fare.

If you wanna get 'em some Disney animation but don't wanna frighten them, I recommend "Fun and Fancy Free." Nice, fairly light, not very scary.

Re: Re: Gift advice
Thanks for the advice, now I'm deciding between:
Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit Nightmare before Christmas Monster Inc. James and the Giant Peach Fun and Fancy Free Ferngully (and wow it's a lot less popular than I thought. Only 12 reviews on rottentomatoes and it got a 67% ) I want it to be that movie that he watches a billion times a day and not one of the "other" movies that just gathers dust and eventually gets sold in a garage sale. :( |
