R.I.P Amber!

She was the girlfriend of my older cousin, Michael, they lived in Shady Side (the town I'm in now) over most of the summer before going to Virgina then SC. They already had a 2 year old together named Hunter. I would always hang out with them during the summer and take Hunter down the road to the beach so he could play on the swings, but haven't seen them since they moved. Anyway, here's the news story.

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson County deputies said Friday afternoon that a pregnant woman was shot and killed after a dispute with her next-door neighbor.

The neighbor has been charged with murder.

The shooting occurred just before 10 a.m. at a home on Roosevelt Drive in the Homeland Park section of Anderson County.

Amber Dawn Robbey, 22, was shot in the chin, investigators told WYFF News 4. She was six months pregnant.

After the shooting, Robbey was taken to Anderson Area Medical Center, where she died. Her child, a girl, was delivered by emergency Caesarean section at the hospital.

The baby has been taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center's neo-natal intensive care unit and was listed in critical condition Friday night, investigators said.

Anderson County deputies charged Cynthia Marchbanks, 22, with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, sheriff's office spokeswoman Susann Griffin told WYFF News 4. Marchbanks has also been charged with assault and battery with intent to kill on the child.

Marchbanks lives next door to the home where Robbey lived with her boyfriend, investigators said.

WYFF News 4 learned that Robbey and her boyfriend moved to Anderson from Virginia about a month ago, but neither had been able to find work. Robbey's father had wired her money on Thursday so that she could return to Virginia.

She and her boyfriend began to pawn off their belongings to prepare for the move.

Friday morning, the neighbor agreed to take the couple to the pawn shop. At the shop, an argument began because the neighbor said the couple's television scratched her car, WYFF News 4 learned.

The argument got so heated that the neighbor ended up leaving Robbey and her boyfriend at the pawn shop, WYFF News 4 learned. The couple walked back to their home.

Robbey went to the neighbor's house to get her purse, which she left in the neighbor's car.

The argument continued on the porch of the neighbor's house. According to investigators, the neighbor went inside, got a handgun and shot Robbey in the chin.

Neighbors said Robbey's boyfriend performed CPR on her, but could not save her.

"He was trying and he began to yell," Vera Patterson told WYFF News 4. "My grandson grabbed the phone and the man told him to call 911 and he did. He called 911 and called the law."

Detectives questioned Marchbanks for about an hour before taking her to the Anderson County Detention Center.
