question about clive barker

okay I know that clive barker is gay, and I have heard that his characters are very sexual. I am about to read some of his books, amd I need to know if the story is going to be interupted every 50 pages by a detailed description of a gay orgy(which I do not want to read). Can anyone help me here?

There are some gay sex scenes, but nothing like you're afraid of, I don't think. Anne Rice has WAY more gay sex in her books than Clive.

barker's actually my favorite author

actually, i think hetero-fucking goes on just as much in his novels, if not more, than any gay-fucking.... :p

start with the books of blood, they are simply amazing....and along with The Damnation Game
and The Hellbound Heart are really the only things he's written that could be considered staight out horror, everything after that is really more dark fantasy than all horror. Just depends on what you want to read, he has a little something for everyone.

I think In The Flesh was pretty straight out horror.

I haven't read any of his books but I'm game for gay or straight sex scenes. I just don't want to read about girl on girl.

Why not?

Well Ooky is a chick, so I'm sure it's for the same reason you don't want to read about guy on guy.
