Need help remembering if this was a movie or TV show
 

Hi,

I posted this once already but it was probably in the wrong area.

I hope that someone can help me out on this one because I cannot come up with anything myselg :(

I watched this back in the early 80's but cannot remember the title or if it was a tv show (twilight zone, cliffhangers etc..) or a movie.

I will describe what I remember and maybe you can help me out with a title or what the hell it was

Plot (What I can remember):

A group of people (I think they are movie makers) go to this town that is full of (i cannot remember if they are cannibals, vampires or ghouls).

Anyway these people eventually start to kill these people off.

However a couple or maybe just one guy gets away and somehow makes it back to the highway and flags down a cop car.
The cops ask him to escort him back to the town. When they get back to this town the cops turn around in their seats and say something to the guy and then attack him.

I believe that the townspeople cannot leave town but the cops that picked this guy up are a special kind that can walk on the outside.

Well thats it.

I know there isn't much to work with but maybe someone will know what I am blabbing about
