Night Watch
 

Have any of you seen "Night watch"? It's a very good Russian Sci-Fi / Fantasy / Horror movie ("Lord of the Rings" meets "Prophecy"). It's been out on DVD for some time, but since Fox bought all American distribution rights, they have mandated to stop making NTSC formatted dvds of it. The disk has been slowly disappearing from even Russian stores in America. And Fox kept postponing the release (next week), while sequel "Day Watch" is already out in Russia. Ain't US movie studios great ;) :(

Also there more or less well know Russian horror flick that I like - "Viy", based on Gogol's retelling of Ukrainian horror tale about a man having to spend nights guarding dead girl of questionable mystical practices.

Nochnoi Dozor's out on R2 soon, so I'm not too fussed.

I had hoped for a nationwide showing!

got it on dvd from Lithuania can't wait for part 2.
