on TCM at 10:15 CST they will be showing the 4+ hour classic Greed. I'm recording it to a DVD, since it's only available on Canadian VHS for now.

"Sounds" good...never saw greed myself...

MY advice for silent movie lovers, on another matter...when you really want that authentic, oldskool silent movie experience, get your preferred movie on dvd, turn the colour right down, loosen your cables some, subtitles ON, sound OFF.
I suppose you could smear a little dirt on your screen to give it the vintage look too...

i've been watching some of the really early 19th century stuff latesly - melies, the lumiere brothers, etc. its wild some of the crazy effects and plots they used to use
