Has anybody else bothered to see this? I started this thread to prevent people from being lured into seeing this movie. It looked like it might be cool, came with significant praise and had Angus Scrimm from the Phantasm movies in it. I thought this would possibly be a new cool reinvention of a theme, but was very disappointed.

Yeah, I just watched it yesterday, unfortunately. You're right, it pretty much sucked. It was just plain boring. I've been thinking of returning it to the video store and claiming that it wouldn't play on my DVD player.

I think the guy who directed it, was trying to take the Polanski vibe a little far. It was in some ways sort of derivative of The Tenant and Rosemary's Baby, both of which are really slow paced and involve flashes of encounters with creepy eccentrics and both of which work because they were directed by Roman Polanski. It's definitely worth sending right back to the videostore. I'm lucky that one of my local videostores has a satisfaction guarantee. Too bad I rented this sack of crap, not to mention Cursed (because I suspected feral Christina Ricci nudity and delightful werewolf carnage) from the other one. There should be a flag thread for new releases that blow.
